COMPANY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(Client must agree to terms and conditions when placing order)
At Film.Scan.Digital we handle every piece of film, every print, and proof meticulously. The following film formats are mounted in fluid for enlargements starting at 200%: 35mm, 645, 6x6, and 6x7. We save each scan as a tiff RGB file at 300 dpi resolution using the Adobe 1998 color space, unless you specify otherwise. There will be an up charge per scan for dpi resolutions higher than 300, please call for a full quote.
We will not scan any film that is not clearly marked with the following information: Please indicate on each sleeve: the reduction or enlargement percentage of the scan, 8bit or 16bit RGB, the dpi resolution, and the desired color space you want embedded in the file. ICC color profiles are applied to all proofs based on the type of print paper. We are not responsible for issues with color when using Client provided ICC color profiles. Please consider your choice of paper the paper and your viewing conditions will affect the color. If the preceding information is not provided on each sleeve the photo will not be scanned.When scanning is completed, every piece of film is cleaned and placed back in the original sleeve. With attention to detail, we provide you with the highest quality on every scan. We will carefully inspect each scan, and clean it as needed.
All our print papers and proofing papers are handled with great care to insure a high quality print or proof free of finger prints or marks. We will then wrap each print with care for shipping.
The Client is responsible for all shipping charges on all film, prints, DVD’s, CD’s, USB flash drives, or portable hard drives to and from our location once the work has been completed. Please clearly label your return shipping address for proper delivery. We recommend that you take the utmost care when shipping film or prints to prevent any possible damage to your high quality photography. We also recommend that you insure each shipment.
Film.Scan.Digital reserves the right to turn down any project at our discretion. We will return all film, prints, art, or electronic files to the client free of charge.
All scanning projects are handled on a first come, first serve basis. We work to complete each project using the highest industry standards, and materials in completing each project in a timely manner. Requested rush services will require additional charges based on the amount of work and materials used to complete the project.
Rush orders require a 72 hour notice.
A quantity discount will apply to scans for the following film formats: 35mm, 645, 6x6, 6x7, and 4x5. 1-20- No discount, 21-50-5%, 51-100-10%. Discounts are based on enlargements starting at 2x3 up to 8x10 only. The enlargement size should be clearly labeled on each piece of film. We cannot guarantee a delivery time for quantity discounts. Film sizes 8x10 and larger do not qualify for a discount.
We will save a back up copy of every scan for 30 days at no additional charge. Normal charges will apply for any request to re-send all or any scans on a project, including shipping and handling. After 30 days, all scans will be permanently removed from our archive.
Scans that require extensive color corrections or retouching will be charged at a fixed rate to be agreed upon between Film.Scan.Digital and the Client. All additional materials used to achieve the Clients desired results will also be charged to the Client’s project.
The appropriate rates will apply for burning DVD-R’s and CD’s. There is NO CHARGE for copying digital scans to the Client supplied USB Flash drives or portable hard drives.
Return policy: There will be a full refund for any corrupt digital images, CD’s, or DVD’s created by Film.Scan.Digital, shipping cost are not refundable. The Client is responsible for all shipping costs for replacing corrupt files, CD’s or DVD’s. Film.Scan.Digital is not responsible for film, CD’s, DVD’s, hard drives, USB flash drives, or prints that are lost or damaged in shipment. Film.Scan.Digital is not responsible for color issues where we use Client provided ICC color profiles. Please consider your choice of paper the paper, and your color viewing conditions as this will affect the color.
Agreement for submission of Client’s project: This agreement governs the submission of film, photos, art, and digital contents by the Client to Film.Scan.Digital. This agreement allows Film.Scan.Digital to employ affiliates, officers, employees and all representatives necessary in the production of this and all submitted projects.
Submitting materials: The Client’s submission of film, photos, digital content, and materials related to the Client’s project to Film.Scan.Digital, the Client grants Film.Scan.Digital a license to reproduce (which includes scanning film, art, photos, producing prints, and use of digital contents) for completion of Client’s project. The Client waives all claims and covenants not to bring a suit or claim against Film.Scan.Digital for infringement of Client’s copyright, trademark, right to privacy, or intellectual agreements for use of all materials related to the Client’s project.
By Client submitting film, photos, digital contents, or use of other materials to Film.Scan.Digital, the Client represents and warrants that film, photos, art, digital contents or other materials DO NOT violate any copyright, trademark, privacy, intellectual agreements, or right of third party agreements. The Client has secured all necessary licenses, consents, and permission for film, photos, or digital contents on CD’s, DVD’s, hard drives, and thumb drives for use by Film.Scan.Digital for the sole purpose of completing project and releasing all material and digital contents back to the Client. All terms and conditions agreed to by Client and Film.Scan.Digital are final. In the event of a third party claim brought against Film.Scan.Digital for the use of film, photos, digital contents or materials related to the Client’s project, the Client takes sole responsibility for such claims and holds harmless and indemnify Film.Scan.Digital against any claims.
Liability limitations: Film.Scan.Digital is not responsible for any film, DVD’s, CD’s, USB flash drives, portable hard drives, prints, proofs, or electronic files that are lost or damaged in shipment to our location or in return to the Clients specified shipping address. All materials submitted to Film.Scan.Digital are handled with the utmost care. Film, photos, art digital contents and other materials could possibly become damaged during handling or processing; therefore, by submitting film, photos, art CD’s and DVD’s the Client assumes this risk and agrees to this liability agreement with Film.Scan.Digital. Liability agreement states, “All submitted materials are limited to replacement of such materials or the replacement value of similar materials. The Client waives all other claims against Film.Scan.Digital for damages against same materials.”
